In 2002 I qualified from the University of Wales Newport with a degree in Design and Technology with Qualified Teaching Status (QTS). Ever since qualifying I have endeavoured to pass on all my knowledge and expertise, gained from my time at university and the skills passed on to me by my father, who was and still is, a fine craftsman and business owner. All these skills were crucial in the education of children of all ages. I have been especially successful helping GCSE and A level students reach the pinnacle of their learning with countless students entering and winning ‘Welsh Joint Education Committee’ Student Innovation Awards, an annual event held to showcase the highest quality work by students in Wales. We were also able to protect a fantastic, innovative design through the patent office.  

Having spent almost 20 years in education I was looking for a new challenge. My passion for outdoors and exploring had always been a driving force in everything I have ever done and the opportunity arose to purchase my first VW Transporter. I had always wanted to convert a campervan since I was a child and in 2017 I had the opportunity to carry out this dream.

Having researched into every facet of this exciting new venture I set about turning a VW T5.1 into a luxury campervan. LUXURY was the keyword for me. My background in design played an instrumental part in the design, development and planning process and I was able to produce a vehicle that met all parts of the criteria I originally set out in my design specification.

Having caught the bug of converting and thoroughly enjoyed the process I set up uberwagon with the intention of producing luxury high end campervans, with all the bells and whistles, and help others realise their dream.

Since 2017 we haven’t looked back further developing and refining our conversions, offering part conversions and services.

As our knowledge and understanding of customer needs grew and the fact that I was now a proud parent of two,  in 2020 I went back to the drawing board to design and develop a fully modular system that allowed a standard VW Transporter to become the fully functional and versatile vehicle I always knew it could be and, now as a family of 4, we needed it to be. This system was developed in a way that it could allow us to use the vehicle for an array of purposes but also give us the ability to keep the centre of the vehicle free to use when needed. 

Our Multiflex System is the result of that design process and allows the vehicle to be a Daily/ Work vehicle during the week, Adventure vehicle on the weekend. With several different interchangeable slide in/out Pods that can be swapped in and out in seconds, this is truly the versatile and functional System I set out to achieve.
